How to link a rich text block within a dynamic list?

Hi!

I’m trying to link a rich text block to my dynamic list in order to pull specific information, but it seems as though if the text block does not fall under the dynamic list layers I am unable to link it through the “Settings” tab. Any assistance would be great.

Thank you

Hi @Allix_Hannah

I am a bit confused.

It looks like you already have the rich text block dynamically bound. You are trying to get the text in the teal section to bind to dynamic content?

Ah yes. Sorry for the confusion - that’s exactly what I’m trying to do!

As you can see I do have a rich text block already nested inside, but ideally I would like that box to be positioned where the teal box is, which seems to be a bit of a struggle as pulling the Dynamic Content from the teal box is not listed in the settings, the same way the Dynamic Text Block that is already nested is.

Thank you

Ah now I understand. Thanks for clarifying!

You aren’t seeing the option in your settings because there isn’t a dynamic list element in the teal section.

One option is to add in a another dynamic list element from the add panel, then nest your elements accordingly. (i.e. Section > dynamic list > rich text block)

The other option it expand your current dynamic list to incorporate the teal section.

One of these should solve your issue!

Hope this helps

EDIT: Here is a GIF showing the first option. the second might get messy.

Hi Brando! I’ve followed your lead but it’s not functioning as it should. Would you be able to take another look? Thank you!

Hi @Allix_Hannah,

I see you have the rich text element bound to the Authors and Speakers collection. Are you trying to display only one collection item here at a time?

Thanks in advance for the clarification

The speakers will always need to be displayed. What I am trying to do is have the rich text block show only when each speaker is clicked (the rich text block will be each of their individual bios)

This is exactly what I am looking to do: https://thenextweb.com/nyc/speakers

Click on each speaker, and that is what my end result would like to look like!

Ahh now I understand. I didn’t know what you were trying to accomplish. I think it may be possible if you use the Tab element. You can place your images, titles, etc, inside the tab link and the rich text element in the tab itself.

That may work, but it will be tricky. I’ll try it out later this evening and make a tut if I can get it to work
