How to create popup tooltips?

Hi, everyone,

I’m trying to create modal popup footnotes that would appear upon hover over the superscripted numbers on this page: four pillars

I’ve done a modal popup or two but mostly for forms, so the big question for me this time is how to control the position of the sources so that they popup just above their respective superscripted #s.

Any tips?
