How do I remove a collection list filter?

How do I remove a collection list filter? I am using a template and I’ve added my own categories. I’m trying to delete two categories from the template I began with. It says I can’t remove them because they are part of collection list filters.

Yes

If you want to remove the categories Wooden Toys and Stuffed Animals you need to remove the filters from the collection list on the home page. I can see that the filters are still there.
