Hi everyone. I’m now on day five of not being able to fix the horizontal scroll on the tablet and mobile (landscape and portrait) versions of my portfolio site. Desktop seems to be fine. I’ve tried embedding custom code to disable it, adding the code to the whole page, and to the entire site but I don’t see any results. There really shouldn’t be any overflow because the whole site is purely up and down with no sideways incoming animation etc. There must be something I’m missing, but I’ll be damned if I know what it is…
Any assistance massively appreciated. I’m losing sleep over this!
Hi Michael, thanks for checking. Just to clarify, desktop has no horizontal scroll issues - the issue is only present on the tablet and mobile verions of my site. Admittedly, I’ve been testing with Firefox and Safari, but I’ve just checked it with Chrome and I’m getting the exact same horizontal scroll with all of them (most obvious around the navigation bar at the top of the page - the body of the page just sways out of alignment). Pretty sure it’s not an overflow issue because, at least as far as I’m aware, there’s nothing lingering anywhere near the outskirts of the site itself. Very confusing, and more than a little frustrating. As ever, any insight or assistance would be enormously appreciated.
Yes I understood that, and responsively, I’m not seeing any issues on your mobile breakpoints through Chrome / Win. No horizontal scrollbar, no drag off the edge, horizontal mousewheel doesn’t shift the page, etc.
Perhaps you mean something different from horizontal scrolling, but I don’t know your intended page layout. Everything looks fine.
Might try a different computer, etc just to see if you can reproduce it, or do a video to help someone else in the community reproduce what you’re seeing on their system .
Hi Michael, thanks again for your response, and sorry for the delay in mine. I really appreciate your time, but I’m genuinely confused (I’m sure that’s apparent) - I’m also not sure why, in your screenshot, the 3D head is clearly rotated, as the rotation is supposedly reserved to, and is set to, rotate and follow the cursor only on desktop, yet your screenshot clearly shows the site at mobile size. Anyway, I guess that’s not the main issue - I’ll record a video showing what I’m getting here with regard to the horizontal scroll and upload it this afternoon!
