Home Page Layout fails to behave as expected - some help needed!

Hi all!
I have a portfolio CMS home page that should show each cover image side by side, containing the entire full width of the page with some margin/padding.

It worked fine when there were only 6 entries, but now that I entered 2 more CMS entries, the layout appears to have a blank space where “3” should go based on how I setup my layout.

I’d like for each entry to appear side by side as before. Furthermore, I’d like to anticipate any odd-numbered entries in the future. Any thoughts?

I see the issue when I start adding more columns to the list:

Try this to get a working grid:

You can still change the number of columns in the Settings panel after that.
