I’m trying to figure out how to set up a wildcard 301 redirect so that the url doesn’t show the folder which pages are nested. In other words…
www.site.com/category/pagename1
www.site.com/category/pagename2
then becomes
www.site.com/pagename1
www.site.com/pagename2
Any help is greatly appreciated!

The correct term is called “URL rewrite”.
Redirect: Server tells web browser to navigate to another location
Rewrite: Server displays a different page/script for URLs that match a certain rule
Currently Webflow hosting doesn’t provide URL rewriting rule functionality. Feel free to request this in the Wish List category.

So for an item that’s within a collection, I’m guessing this means there’s no way to remove the collections template’s subdirectory name from the URL. Is that correct?

There is no way to do it with the project settings provided in Webflow.
