Help with Google Search Console – Deleted Pages & Robots.txt Issues

Hi,

I’m new to Google Search Console and have a few questions. I’ve added my website as a property and submitted the sitemap. However, I noticed that all previously created pages, including those that have been deleted, still appear in the console.

I have two main concerns:

  1. How can I remove deleted pages that are still showing in Google Search Console?
  2. How can I fix pages that are being blocked by robots.txt?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi there!

Here’s how to handle your search indexing concerns:

For removing deleted pages from Google search results, you can use Google’s removals tool (Removals and SafeSearch reports Tool - Search Console Help). This tool allows you to request the removal of outdated content from Google’s search results.

If you need to modify your robots.txt settings, you can update the file with these rules to allow crawling:

User-agent: *
Disallow:

After updating the robots.txt file, make sure to republish your site for the changes to take effect. For more granular control over page indexing, we recommend using the Sitemap indexing toggle in Webflow instead of robots.txt. This feature gives you precise control over which pages should appear in search results: https://university.webflow.com/lesson/disable-search-engine-indexing#how-to-enable-or-disable-indexing-of-site-pages

Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.

Hi, I can see your website & pages are indexed.

Total 24 Urls are indexed now.
The search console issues you shared here. They need to be fixed like Not found (404) issues, the URLs need to redirect to present URLs structures. Like them other issues need to be solved and applied for validation. Search console will fix them gradually. Feel free to ask me for any additional help.
Thanks
