I’ve read the articles on Workspace plans vs. Site plans and have read related articles about individual contributors roles but I am really struggling to put everything together.
I am and the site is on the Freelancer Workspace plan; the site itself is on the CMS plan. When I click on the site settings and go to Site Access, I see:
I am Site Manager but cannot click the button “Add people” because “Everyone in the workspace has access”
I see the second section “Editor access”, of which two seats are used (myself and the client’s manager). However, the Editor access doesn’t allow me to change Site roles.
Ultimately, I want to set this up for the client so that:
1-2 people can make changes at the Designer level, same as I can now
Maybe another 1-2 can make content-based editors, like the Editor can
Up to you but I’d generally set this up in a client-owned workspace, if those users are client-specific. Then invite my own freelancer/agency workspace as a guest, so that you have full access as well.
However some notes specific to your setup;
Add the seats first
Invite the users at the workspace level, using those seats
Then assign their site roles
Your site appears setup for “everyone can access” so if you want varying access levels, change that and specify what access each person gets.
For content editing, you can either use the content editor for free ( 3 editors on CMS plan, limited capability ), or you can give them workspace seats and have full “edit mode” access in the designer- which is better if you’re using components, localization, commenting.
