HELP! Random files download on page load

I helped a client build a site (http://diversek.com) which has been fine since. However, now when you click on one of the sub-pages (Podcast) random files just download. what is going on?

Hi Oghenekaro,

I’m not seeing any issues, my guess would be;

  • You have a browser add-on which is modifying the page content and behavior, or
  • You have spyware on your system

I’d try first visiting the page in Chrome Incognito ( in Chrome hit CTRL+SHIFT+N ).
Extensions don’t load there, so see if you have the same issue.

If it’s not that, try using a different computer and you’ll know if its something with your browser specifically.

I am having the exact same issue, only in Safari… Tried on two different machines and same thing. It even tries downloading all these random files when I hit preview in the editor.

Did you ever find a solution?

Hi, I posted in the form about this same issue and it appears to be Spotify’s API causing the downloads. Noticed we both use their embed function on our sites. I haven’t found a solution yet but If I do I will try to remember to come back here to share.
