GDPR - Disabling cookies?

Here we go again! We’ve just published two specific Webflow guides :

About Vimeo : one of the ways to implement the blocking capability of our Cookie Solution is to slightly change the scripts that may install cookies. At Prior Blocking of Cookies: Manual Tagging (with Practical Examples) you’ll find a practical example for Vimeo. We suggest you to use the Webflow “Embed” component instead of “Video” element, this way you’ll be able to edit Vimeo’s snippets.

Jut came across this - Iubenda is not 27 USD per year if you want to be GDPR compliant. In this case its 450 USd per year. The compliance levels and pricing of the others I have not checked.

This is super confusing…

@iubenda

Can you weigh in here?

You have 5 solutions on iubenda.

  1. Privacy and Cookie Policy generator.
  2. Cookie Solution
  3. Consent Solution
  4. Terms and Conditions Generator
  5. Internal Privacy Management

Which of these solutions are required for a new small business in the EU to be GDPR compliant?

Is it is some of them or all of them?

If it’s all of them why do you offer each solution individually? Isn’t that misleading?

The cost is $27~ for the year for solutions 1 and 2 but ~$470 a year for the rest?

Can you explain?

Hi JTL,

Thanks for your additional questions and sorry for the delay in replying.

Each solution is offered individually so that businesses have the flexibility to choose the perfect package for them.

Terms&Conditions for example are required in the following cases:

  • have different user levels (eg. registered vs non-registered);
  • want to set the rules for user behavior (including comments) and state grounds for termination of accounts;
  • allow your users to upload content;
  • participate in affiliate programs;
  • provide advice which can potentially cause harm if misused;
  • would like to have some legally enforceable control over, and set rules about, how your product, service or content may be used

A simple blog or landing page who wants to be compliant with GDPR may only need to add a Privacy/Cookie policy and a banner (Cookie Solution) as none of the above scenarios affect the users visiting the domain therefore the owner will choose a Pro License (Privacy/Cookie Policy generator) instead of an Ultra License (Privacy/Cookie Policy and T&C generator).

The Consent Solution is required when processing the personal data of EU-based users on the legal basis of Consent. Common Scenarios of this include collecting personal data via forms for newsletters, email lists, subscriptions etc. This is not required if there are no such forms or ways to collect personal data on your site/app or, even if you do, probably you use a CRM with built-in functionality to save and store consent given by the users therefore you choose not to purchase our Consent Solution because you have a way to handle this already.

Our Cookie Solution allows you to generate the cookie banner and to implement the prior blocking of scripts into your website. The service is offered for free up to 25K pageviews per month and for some websites this is more than enough. Others may need to purchase more page/views as they have more visitors each month so in this case we provide plans with more page/views (50k, 100k,150k and so on).

It’s all about the flexibility and the requirements of each individual Business which cannot be generalized selling the products as one package for everyone.

Our solution is optimized for everything from e-commerce, blogs, and apps, to complex scenarios like marketplace and, SaaS and we pride ourselves to be able anyone from small business to large Enterprise.

I hope this shed a light on your doubts and please don’t hesitate to reach out should you have any doubt!
