Hi there! I’m using this very helpful “made-in-webflow” cloneable solution I found from this thread (see Cyberdave’s final response).
The solution is exactly what I need (wrap text, nice dropdown action) - but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to edit the background color of the “Dropdown List” portion of the “Accordion Item”. You can see that if you try to edit it to a bright red color say (for obviousness), the response in the dropdown accordion still has a light gray background. I can change the background color of the “Answer” to bright red, say, but the “Drowdown List” background around it is still light gray (which doesn’t look clean, design-wise).
How do I change the background color of the Dropdown List?
What’s preventing me from doing so?
To change the background color of a Dropdown List within an accordion, you can adjust the styling through the Dropdown List’s background settings. Here are some general styling tips:
The Dropdown List has several elements you can style independently:
The trigger element (the part you click to expand)
The dropdown list container
Individual list items
You can access these through the Style panel when the respective element is selected. For the background color specifically, look under the Background section in the Style panel for each element you want to modify.
If you’re using a custom accordion setup, make sure you’re targeting the correct element state (default, hover, pressed) when applying background colors.
Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.
Thanks so much for the reply. I’m able to successfully edit dropdown backgrounds in general - just in this specific cloneable project - I was unable to. I can’t figure out what is preventing me. I did try changing the background color in all the other states (hover, current, etc) - but still, no change to the background color in the Dropdown List element - in this particular example.
