you can see in the screenshot the last one “CX Design” is completely messed up for some reason, do you know what might be causing this?

If you look at your code you can see you don’t have the custom element wrapped around your link content, so you have an empty link and then some stuff adjacent to it. You need to wrap your link content with the custom element link. Move that content inside.

Also the buttons now lost their “current” (active) state on the current page, is it possible to somehow bring it back or link the “current collection page” option through the custom element?

Use relative links like this;
/workshops/design-sprint

instead of absolute links like this;
