Date/Time field filter is so confusing. Can anyone help me on this?

This date/Time field filter is so confusing. Especially ‘‘is after/before or equal to, in the past’’ vs ‘’ is after/before or equal to, in the future’'. what does it mean, if I set ‘‘1 day after or equal to in the past’’ & ‘‘1 day before or equal to, in the future’’, similarly ‘‘1 day before, in the past’’ and ‘‘1 day after in the future’’. these things get so confusing and the worst part is there are no proper tutorials or documentation online anywhere about this topic. Can anyone explain this in simple words or can anyone provide me with any resources to help me clear this out?

Hey there, so this is how I understand it:

Let’s say you have a collection list of items that were created at various times over the last month. If you want to filter them out and only show the ones created in the last week on your homepage or something, you would choose:

Created On:
Is after or equal to
7 days
in the past.

This says hey, I only want to show the ones that have been created 7 days ago or later. If you want to only show older posts you would switch it to:

Created On:
Is before or equal to
7 days
in the past.

This says take everything created 7 days ago or older and display them.

Hope that helps!

@ckuch nailed it.

It might help to think of the filter as having 3 parts;

I created this quick reference to date/time fields a while back. Hope this helps.
