I just upgraded my account from free to paid. Now whenever I publish / reload my site- I get a truly ugly banner across the bottom of my page. It’s black, and the text is black. I have to select all the text to read:
We use cookies (and other similar technologies) to improve your experience on our site. By using the Editor you agree to the Cookie Policy.
You can change your preferences at any time.
I think we all understand it is needed, but I would be happy if it popped up only once a day, not every few seconds. You say we haven’t accepted it but you haven’t said how to accept it, because I am pretty sure I have tried. Is there something we don’t know about?
If your browser is set to block cookies then that would a reason. How depends on browser, version, OS combo. You can use this third party site to see if your browser accepts cookies.
Here are the most common reasons this happens:
Browser blocking cookies
If third-party cookies are blocked, or strict tracking prevention is enabled, Webflow’s authentication system can’t set the necessary cookies. Safari (especially on iOS) and Brave are notorious for this because of their strict default settings.
Incognito/private mode limitations
Some browsers in private mode block cookies altogether. That would stop login from working.
Extensions or ad blockers interfering
Privacy extensions (AdBlock, uBlock, Ghostery, DuckDuckGo, etc.) can block cookies Webflow needs.
Outdated or incompatible browser
Old versions of Chrome/Edge/Firefox, or unusual browsers, may cause login trouble. Webflow is officially optimized for the latest Chrome/Edge/Safari/Firefox.
Corrupt or stale cookies/cache
If an old Webflow cookie is stuck, the login flow can break until the user clears browser cookies for webflow.com.
Firewall/VPN issues
Some VPNs or corporate firewalls interfere with cookie/session storage.
