Compiling custom code... forever!

Hi,

For some reason when I try to run my site in the editor it’s just showing Compiling custom code… with the spinner forever spinning.

I’ve not made any changes to custom code for a while and it was working this morning. Does anyone know why this would be happening? I’ve restarted my machine, cleared browser cache, not sure what else to do.

Hi Dave, are you referring to the code preview mode?

There isn’t much you can do there- Webflow doesn’t give specific diagnostic reports etc. when it has difficult using your code in code preview mode. There are a lot of complexities there since it’s running in the designer.

You could message support, but your best bet in that circumstance is-

  • Switch off the code preview toggle at the top of the preview screen
  • Publish to staging
  • View it there

Thank you for your response, that’s exactly what I ended up doing thanks for the pointers.

Having cleared my cache 3-4 times the editor is working again.
