Colours in Variables are overridden

The default Body Text Colour used to be pink (#ffcdf0), but for some reason it gets overridden with a burgundy colour (see screenshot). This is also affecting SVG assets that were asigned the pink colour. Any idea what’s happening?

Hi there,

Text colors in Webflow can be inherited from parent elements like the Body or Section elements. Here’s how to identify and adjust inherited colors:

To check color inheritance:

  1. Select the text element you want to check
  2. Look for the orange inheritance indicator next to the text color setting
  3. Click the indicator to see which parent element is setting the color

To override the inherited color:

  1. Select the text element
  2. Click on the color property in the Style panel
  3. Choose a new color or input your desired hex code
  4. The new color will override any inherited values

Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.

Hey @Alastair_McCarley ,

Are you still facing this issue? When I take a look at your live site and also the preview site, the body text color seems to be applied as you have set it to (pink color) While I view the variables, it does show the right color:

If you are not able to see the right color swatch, can you clear cache or see the variable settings in your site on incognito mode?
