I am trying to link collection buttons (READ MORE button) to specific collection items (blog posts) in a section on the same webpage. Currently, the collection button(s) all take me to the top item in the collection wrapper/list as opposed to the specific item they should be linked to.
There’s currently no way to add a specific ID for an anchor link to an individual post. Not without custom code.
The easiest way to do this at the moment, is to add individual collection lists and display just one blog post in each. That way you can allocate an individual tag for each item.
Thank you so much Sarah - I was thinking that might be the only solution.
Is there common code available that I could add to my site? If not, I will try another way. It seems a lot to have to make a separate list for each blog post, particularly when you are posting each week or even more often.
I don’t know if there are custom code options. That’s not my strength, unfortunately. I didn’t realize you wanted to have all blog posts on this page. I assumed this was a landing page for the blog that would feature the newest/most popular posts.
I wonder if there’s a better way to create this layout then?
Hi, This might come a little late for you but maybe others can benefit. I found a way around this that requires more work but makes it possible for you to reach a collection item through a link. Basically, you have to make a new section for each item. Give the items each a unique ID and then use conditions in each section to show only the collection item with that Unique ID. So section 1 can have a collection item with unique ID 1. No other collection item can meet the condition so it won’t show. And you can make each link connect to each section. This means you have to format each section separately as you can’t duplicate sections (i believe) but it gets you the effect.
