I use the CMS for blog posts. Overall I feel Webflows approach to the workflow for CMS items is far from ideal, but I have got something that works…
However, sometimes I have images that I add to the body of my text that I want to have a certain style, for example a drop shadow, or perhaps corner radius.
But Some images I add dont want to have those styles.
Is there a way to define a style, then in the CMS builder apply (or delete) the styles on the image (or any element really)?
In general Webflow gives near-unlimited freedom on layout and styling, except where specific elements like the rich text block are concerned.
Part of the reason for that is to give designers control over the design, layout and styling, while editors get content-only control with no ability to “break” the brand. It’s an awkward tradeoff- great benefits in certain scenarios, not quite as great in other scenarios.
When your rich text content is sourced from the CMS, that content v style separation is strict, and there really is no good way around it. You might look at FS powerful rich text or refokus rich text enhancer to see if you can get the class wrappers to apply to your images. That’s probably your best bet.
If you really want styling freedom, the approach would be to use static pages for your blog articles so that you can style individual elements within the rich text block, and create special elements when it suits you.
It’s important to send those signals to the WF team, they don’t see much here regarding feature requests / issues / discontents in the community forum.
The support desk and webflow wishlist are where you’ll want to share the issues you’re having or features you need.
