You didn’t share the needed links so it’s not possible to help.
But check to make certain your rich text element is still bound to the CMS field, and make sure your edits are not “draft changes.” You need to publish your CMS item updates separately from the site publish.
Thanks. Sure it is bound to the CMS field and not in draft stage. I use Webflow daily for several years already. It seems to be a bug. I have submitted it to the support.
The draft changes feature is new, and a lot of people miss that item-specific publishing step.
The element unbinding issue is new, and I’m getting hit daily with it. I need to figure out which step is triggering it and I’ll message support as well.
I’m glad you found it, and Tbh also glad I’m not the only one seeing this issue.
It seems either related to on canvas editing ( OCE ), or the pop-up CMS modal, or the draft changes publishing- but I’m not certain which one yet. If you should pin down where it’s happening in your edit workflow, please let me know.
Update- I’ve narrowed it down to the OCE; as soon as I edit a CMS bound rich text element on the canvas, it unbinds from the CMS.
Strangely, the CMS content is updated correctly, but the static rich text element is also updated with that content, so it’s not immediately obvious that it unbound.
My suspicion is that some change is conflicting with a Chrome extension, because I cannot reproduce the problem in Chrome incognito. Try disabling your browser extensions until you find the culprit.
Just wanted to say thanks to you both for this thread - I was having a hell of a day trying to figure out why my entire website was showing identical blog posts for a day, but thanks to this thread I figured out that the rich text container somehow became unbound with the collection field even though I’ve never touched that purple button lol. I tend not to use the on canvas editing because it’s a pain, one more reason not to use it I suppose…
