CMS field dropdown not scrolling, can't select or navigate fields

Hey everyone, hoping someone can help!

I’m having a strange issue in the Webflow Designer. Whenever I try to connect a text block or image to a CMS field (like Name, Date, etc.), the dropdown that appears to pick the field won’t scroll. I can’t use my mouse, arrow keys, or tab to move down, it’s completely stuck and only shows the top few options.

I’ve tried everything:

  • Refreshing the page

  • Zooming out

  • Disabling extensions (AdBlock, etc.)

  • Switching browsers (Chrome, Safari)

  • Restarting my computer

The issue happens every time I open the “Connect to data” list, which makes it impossible to link to deeper CMS fields.

Here’s a screenshot showing the problem (attached). I can’t scroll further down.

Would really appreciate if anyone has seen this before or has a fix :folded_hands:

Hey @daanniel.art, please always share read only link or loom video, so community can check or view the actual problem.

Hey Ahmed, thanks for the reply.

Here it is: Webflow - Fastnet Bio

If you scroll down to the placeholder and try change the date to ‘authors’, you’ll see you can’t scroll. It’s site-wide too, I can’t link things to their collection fields if it requires scrolling. It’s frozen.

Hey @daanniel.art ,

The field that you are trying to map to the text (Authors) is a multi-reference one and not a plain text field, hence you are not able to see it as an option to map, so it is not a scrolling issue in this case.

In order to map the ‘Authors’ field, add a collection list element inside the insights-item element and select it’s source as ‘Author(s) (Multi-reference)’ as highlighted in the screenshot below.

Inside this collection item, you should be able to add a text block and map it to the Team Members collection’s Name field accordingly and it should populate the authors name for that particular Insights item.

Hope this helps.
