CMS Attachment Field

Hello,

I’ve added an attachment field to a CMS collection for a blog.

However, after I add a a layout in order to display the attachment for download, it does not actually appear once published.

Any tips?

Thanks!

Here is my site Read-Only: LINK
(how to share your site Read-Only link)

Hello @kevininaustin

Can you share your read-only link? And the name of the blog post so I can take a look.

Hello Piter, Here is the link. I’m also attaching a couple of screenshot. The first show the link block I inserted along with the pane that shows I connected it to the field. The next shows the actual site, but that is rendered invisible.

Hi… I figured out at least a part of the problem. I inserted an image into the link block, so that now that attachment does populate. However, now the image appears in all blog posts, whether or not there is an actual attachment in the field. Is there a way to ONLY show the image field IF there is a related attachment on the post?

To the first question. The link is invisible because he is empty. You can see the link in the designer to make edits, but if the link is empty you will be not able too see it on the live site.

How you want the pdf link to show up?

So you want the blog to be a pdf? and if people click on the link they will read a pdf?

@kevininaustin Here’s a screen record > https://www.useloom.com/share/ff9cd9c6bc094cb9b1b17573a7e93398

Here’s what I’m trying to do.

  • I used the Webflow blog collection.
  • I added an attachment field.
  • Not all blog posts will include attachments.
  • For those that DO include an attachment, there will be an element container/image so they user can download.
  • For those blog posts that do NOT include an attachment, that element will simply not appear.

Thanks!

Your solution is conditional visibility. See here > https://www.useloom.com/share/92ac41bab3e94f32aef6442d5960252b
