Closing modal by pressing the "esc" key

I actually found Finsweet’s accessible modal component first, ha.

I prefer using a Webflow developer’s solution (for no good reason). However, their custom code seems to break/override the smooth fade out close interaction.

The custom code for Webflow’s Accessible Modal Component seems to break the close interaction. In preview mode, closing the modal perfectly executes the fade out interaction. However, when viewing the published page (in any browser), it is reduced to an instant disappear—I assume related to this line: $(this).closest('.modal-wrapper').hide(); I don’t know JavaScript, but thoughts from anybody … maybe even the Webflow developer?
