Can't select headings and other text elements in build mode

Hi everyone,

I’m building a website for a client and they’ve requested to have their website in another language.
I’m not sure if this is an issue with localization, but in the build mode I can’t seem to select certain headings or text elements.

It seems to happen mostly on the H1’s on each page and the subtext below them. All the other text elements are fine and I can select and edit the text.

Does anyone have any idea why I can’t select the headings in build mode?

This makes it hard for my client to translate the entire website themselves, as they only work in the build mode. I don’t want them messing something up by editing in the designer.

I also tried resetting the localization settings on that element, but if I can’t even select it, I can’t right click to reset it.

In the designers everything is fine and I can edit all the text, but the issue is in the build mode.

The only thing I did was translate each page by right clicking on the body and translating the entire page with AI.

Hi Dominique,

The readonly link doesn’t support switching to build mode so the community wouldn’t even be able to reproduce your problem.

Have you contacted support?

Not yet. It’s not a big issue for now, but it would be nice if my client can change the text himself in build mode. I’ll get in touch with them.

Actually I just realized you might have “locked” it from editing, and indeed that appears to be the case.

Haha, yes! I found it already by using the webflow support AI. I’ve been looking for a while now :sweat_smile: glad to finally know why that was the case.
