Hi there,
I noticed that earlier this year Webflow changed the way paginated collection lists are canonicalized.
Before, Webflow would canonical all of the paginated pages to the original page.
Now, Webflow creates a canonical link for each of the paginated pages.
This is very bad for SEO, because it creates a ton of duplicative content. I’ve noticed that several of my pages with paginated lists are having multiple duplicate, paginated pages indexed. This is not good for SEO, because you want to consolidate all of the link and user signals to the original page, and too much duplicate content can confuse Google’s crawler on which page to prioritize in search. There’s also a risk of my site looking spammy for having hundreds of similar pages.
From what I can tell Webflow made this change without any way to reverse it. Does anyone have a scrappy solution?
