All fields except the name field won’t be affected if you select DO NOT IMPORT. Make sure to overwrite the name field with the name from your CSV, even if it doesn’t need it. If you don’t, all your names and URLs will get renamed to “Imported item 1”, “Imported item 2”, etc. I learned this the hard way.
Also, If you revert back to a backup, all your IDs will change so you will have to reset them in whatever spreadsheet you are uploading from.
