Auto display none automatically on resize?

Hello! I am working through a new site build - here’s the situation.

I have a custom nav that moves to hamburger on mobile landscape and below. When you click the burger it opens a full-screen fixed pos. div with menu links inside. You then click the burger again to close. This works great!

The problem is that if the menu is open say at mobile landscape, and you drag the screen size to desktop, the menu stays open but the burger disappears - so now there is now way to remove the menu. Ideally I’d like to find a way to close the menu automatically if dragged to large breakpoints, but not sure if 1) that’s doable and 2) if that even makes sense. I tried some custom JS code from ChatGPT but that didn’t work either.
