Are Item `_id` unique across collections?

I have a very simple question. I am interfacing through the REST API.

Many items can live in a collection, and within this collection every item should have a unique ID. This is referred to as _id in the response.

My question is: Are item ID’s unique across collections. That is to say, can “CollectionA” and “CollectionB” ever have children with a matching ID?

The _id values are unique across all your collections. So, you will never encounter two CMS items with the same _id, no matter which collection they are from.
