Apply discount code when visiting a custom link

Hi WF Experts,
There’s a use case where you want to associate a URL with a specific discount code. When someone comes to an E-Commerce website with that URL, the discount is applied either to every product or on a specific product page. Can it be done using custom jQuery or Javascript?

@foxy Curious if you have any solutions for this or other similar use cases. Plenty of ecommerce stores will offer a discount with email signup. Rather than having to write down the discount code, it would be great if that discount were somehow applied a session variable so they can see that automatic discount clearly in their cart.
