Appears no sort order available?

Hi all, after hours of frustration with alpha ordering, I think maybe our website designer disabled “sort order” or didn’t include this option when he set up the collections?

Our client is getting pretty torqued that items in their collection aren’t in alphabetical order but the designer is saying we have to sign up for a $300 month of service for him to look at this to fix. So frustrating!!

I’ve seen these instructions:
To add a sort order to your Collection list:

  1. Select your Collection list on the canvas.
  2. Go to Element settings panel > Collection list settings > Sort order.
  3. Click the “plus” icon.
  4. Choose the Collection field you’d like to sort by from the first dropdown.
  5. Choose the sort order you want from the second dropdown.
  6. Click Save.

But they don’t help because when I access the Element Settings it’s all about SEO and fields. No sort order. I did add a new field called “Order” and went in and ordered they content in collections alphabetically. That didn’t help either because you still need to select Sort Order, which is missing!!

Very grateful for any help…

Hi Erin,

I didn’t see any collection lists o the homepage, which is the page you shared in the readonly link. I did locate one on the FAQs page though, so I can use that as an example;

[1] is the collection list, [2] is the settings tab for that element, and [3] is the sort setting. In this case it’s already set, to a “Sort Order” field which is a number you can edit to control the position.

Again as an example, if you wanted to instead sort alpha on the Question text, you could change it to this-
