All Links | Color Changes Not Publishing

Hi everyone,

First, thanks for all of your contributions to assisting us less-than-prolific designers. It’s been incredibly helpful as I attempt to learn Webflow and build a better-than-mediocre experience.

I’m struggling with the color of pressed/visited links. Following instructions I’ve read here and in the Webflow University still hasn’t resolved my issue.

All links (Nav or otherwise) pressed are teal in color – except in the footer, where they are black (when they should be cream (#ebebde) irrespective of condition. This is especially distracting on the Nav, and other pages where the background color clashes.

All previous attempts to resolve this have been a failure – even though they appear to be the correct color (black) when I preview the changes. Multiple browsers with cleared caches, however, show that the changes haven’t been made.

Your help in resolving this is greatly appreciated, as well as any insight into what went wrong and how I can avoid it in the future.

Thanks!
Tony

Hi Tony,

Welcome to the community!

We need to make sure that the visited link stays in black. Upon checking the source code, it appears that the issue only applies to breakpoints 1440px and up.

In the designer, click the 1440px breakpoint

Select the link (e.g. Home) go to Style selector, click the dropdown and select Visited. You will notice the Home color will change from black to teal. For some reason, I can’t find anywhere how this happened. Could possibly be a custom code set somewhere or this is a bug in WF. Now, while the nav Visited selected, go to Typography settings set the color to black even if you see it as black. You need to click the picker and select black to tell the system you are setting it to black. You should you see the nav Home color changed from teal to black.

Since you have different class names for different links (Link 5, Nav Link 3, Nav Link 4, Nav Link 5), you need to do the same steps as above to make sure they have the same output.

Preview and publish to live.
