All CMS items and fonts deleted on restoring backup

After attempting to restore an automatic backup from 20 mins earlier, I got an “Automatic backup restore failed” error, and then all my CMS items and fonts (and possibly more) were deleted.

Since I haven’t published any changes, the staging and production websites still have all the data. If there’s a way to sync all the data from the production website back to the editor, I would be happy to do that.

I reached out to Webflow Support 4 hours ago, but their turnaround time is 24 hours, so it will be another day before I hear back.

How can I fix it? What are my options?

Your only option is to try another restore from a different backup.
All of this is internal system stuff, so only Webflow can access that project data level.

I tried restoring backups going back to last 7 days but still facing the same errors and no CMS items, broken designs, missing fonts.

Why have such a buggy “restore backup” feature, it deleted almost everything. Super frustrating.

Honestly in 7 years I’ve never used it.

I don’t trust “closed” backup systems in general where I can’t access the content directly like you can in e.g. a file system or github repo.

But I know a lot of people who love it.
