Ahrefs reports "Published" and "Modified" dates are missing

We just migrated a blog from Hubspot to the Webflow CMS. This gave us an inaccurate publication date, so we added a field to manually set the publish date. This is working fine for on-page display, but when checking with the ahrefs SEO toolbar we notice that it’s not reading either publication or modification date:

The automatically logged “created”, “last edited”, and “last published” fields are all there when I check the CMS, so why aren’t they visible? Is this an ahrefs problem or a webflow issue?

I guess I could add modification dates manually, but I’d like to avoid that if possible. Thanks!

Hi Pam,

First, ahrefs would need to look at your published site, which means either your webflow.io site, or your live published site ( which appears to still be on Hubspot ).

Right now I don’t see any published version that it would be looking at, since your webflow.io staged site is unpublished.

Regardless, those CMS date fields won’t automatically appear anywhere, you need to bind them to elements if you want them to appear in your HTML.

Most likely, they need to be bound to META tags, or to rich snippets like LD+JSON structured data in order for them to be picked up.

I wouldn’t worry overmuch though, even most SEO sites don’t use those.
Even on articles that feature that very topic…
